Quality adjusted GEKS-type indices for price comparisons based on scanner data

چکیده

A wide variety of retailers (supermarkets, home electronics, Internet shops, etc.) provide scanner data containing information at the level barcode, e.g. Global Trade Item Number (GTIN). As complete transaction information, we may use expenditure shares items as weightsfor calculating price indices lowest (elementary) aggregation. The challenge here is choice index formula which should be able to reduce chain drift bias and substitution bias. Multilateral methods seem best due dynamic character data. These work on a wholetime window are transitive, key elimination effect. Following what called an identity test, however, it expected that even when only prices return their original values, becomes one. Unfortunately, commonly used multilateral (GEKS, CCDI, GK, TPD, TDH) do not meet test. paper discusses proposal two weighted versions. On one hand, design proposed based idea GEKS index. other similarly Geary-Khamis method, requires quality adjusting. It shown test most tests. In empirical simulation study, these compared with SPQ index, relatively new also meets analytical considerations well studies confirm high usefulness indices.

Neutrality of the Regulated Price Shock on Price Indices When All Primary Factors’ Endowments Are Adjusted

The regulated price policy may be implemented for some products. It is generally implemented for some products such as electricity, natural gas, water and so on that are supplied as monopolist. The regulated price shock on these products may lead to an adjustment in the endowments of primary factors. The aim of this paper is to investigate the effects of a regulated price shock on price indices...

Risk-adjusted control charts based on LR-fuzzy data

Control charts are widely used in industrial processes as well as in health sciences and particularly for monitoring the performance of cardiac surgeon or a group of surgeons based on the preoperative risk of patients. Since the preoperative risk is a vague and nonprecise variable and the anesthesiologists after checking how many risk factors a patient has, determine the risk of mortality befor...

Risk-adjusted indices for measuring the quality of inpatient care.

This article describes a risk-adjustment method for profiling hospitals and physicians on key measures of clinical quality using readily available administrative data. By comparing actual and expected rates of mortality, complications, readmissions, and patient safety events, this method enables providers to identify both favorable and adverse outcomes performance.
